Attending a Sikh (Indian) wedding?

I will be attending a wedding but I am concerned in what type of attire to wear. I am not Indian so I don't know the latest fashion. I have 2 traditional patiala suits. They are considered fancy enough to wear at a "special occasion" but I feel they lack something. Now a days I see the girls wear the typical suit with the pants but they look like leggings instead of the baggy type pants. I also notice that for weddings they tend to wear saris. I don't want to be under dressed. I am just not sure what is the proper attire to wear, should I wear a sari, a salwar kameez, or a patiala suit. Since I am not Indian I don't want to look weird.

As you are not Indian, I think a sari would look the best. :) A sari is the prettiest, anyway. If you have the money, wear Sabyasachi(incredible designer). If you’re on a budget, I suggest any Indian boutique. They’ll make whatever you want in whatever your range is. Sabyasachi isn’t very blingy(unfortunately bling is in),so you can try the boutiques.
But no patiala suits….they’re casual. I personally don’t find them very elegant.
