Can i, or should i wear a sari/saree at red carpet event?

Its work party next week, and the theme is hollywood red carpet.

I have no idea what to wear. I have 2 black dress which i have worn previously, but not keen on wearing them again.

I do have some very exoensive sari which i was thinking to wear.
Would i look silly? Its light pink sari with light blue blouse. Its heavily embroidery with sequins and beads.

Would it look silly on red carpet event?

thanks

For any party I prefer to wear saree. Plain chifon with or without light or heavy embroidery sequins and beads. Always I wear saree below navel low on my hips. I am always admired.
So any one in any kind of party can/should wear saree, no doubt she will be the best dressed there.
