Children’s Costume Help!?

My daughter wants to wear a saree (sorry if I spelled it wrong) identical to the one worn by Aqua at the end of the Cheetah Girl's One World movie. Would you recommend making one or buying it? Is a saree easy to make? Can you anyone send me links to websites that will help me with this? I'm not even sure how to drape the saree, so any help with that would be appreciated too.

For the pattern…A Sari is like a huge shawl, you wrap it around you to make a dress. So you would need a few yards of material. As for how much I don’t know, it depends what you’ll be making with it…if it’s the traditional Sari dresses or a skirt, short or long. For sewing all you need to do is a small rolled hem on all the edges, the only cutting you would be doing is to make sure it’s all symmetrical, straight edges and such.

For the fabric, you can use silk, even rayon if you’re on a budget. I don’t know what stores are around you so I can’t suggest any.

I would say maybe 3 or 4 yards at the most (9-12 feet FOR AN ADULT so figure out about 1/2 that to wrap it for a child)
If you have any left over you could make a matching bag or scarf out of it.

make a drawstring waist cotton 1/2 slip to wear under it for the bottom
any cotton top or T shirt can be used for the top under the sari
