I had heard that Indian women are conservative…but after coming here,I see many women wear revealing dresses

especially the dress called "sari" looks pretty revealing at times...Are they really not that shy about their body?

I think it depends on the religion. In India there is Muslim and Hindi, I would think the Muslims are the ones that are conservative.

Well it depends on the girl herself. It is upto her of what she wears. On the whole, Indians are a bit conservative , but Indian women are shown a little more. Actually, in order to suppress the female sex, the Indian males have brutally damaged the ideology of females, and thus now only a few have their own opinions, at least when in India.
So, when in other countries , far from the shackles of moral of society, they tend to the other part of living which was earlier inhibited to them.

Indians being conservative is a myth. I promise you they are the horniest bunch around.

The idea of femininity and sensuality play a big role in Indian culture. Side way looks in place of the western direct eye contact is part feminine allure and stirring of the male spirit. Exposing the body with flimsy cloth is another part of the look but do not touch culture.

However when left unimpeded by tradition, all breaks loose. Just go to any party in England, South Africa or for that matter in Mumbai and watch what happens as the night progresses.

Maybe not all of them are conservative but I am sure there still are a percentage that are though. I believe that as the world ages, people are more modernized so I think noone could answer the second part of your question, which is whether they are shy about their body or not. ;-)

You can not say conservative. They have their ethics and always they follow it. Any fashion style worn by women is not meant revealing. Wearing saree below navel low on hips and may be without blouse and bra can be revealing and does not effect her ethics. She is strong in character.
