I want to wear this!!!?

Hi! Recently, my friend invited me to her birthday party. She's Indian, and she says it will be formal. I'm going to be the only non-Indian person there, and I was thinking of wearing a sari, but would it be offensive to her family and friends?

I was going to get something like this:

And just wear it with red flats.

If you have any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry if the link didn't work...

    the link doesnt work! :(

I think you should first ask your friend and if she says yes then go on and wear the sari.

another option, you could wear a Salwaar Kameez.
Its an indian garment which consists of a trouser and a long dress and a scarf. Its a traditional indian garment.

they come in beautiful bright colours and they are absolutely gorgeous!

I would ask your friend.. In ways i would find that kind of offensive..
Definitely ask here before you buy it okay? Just trying to save you
from embarrassment because i know a lot of different cultures would find that offensive.

i think it would be nice to wear a sari, it would show that you respect the family’s culture. but it honestly depends on the friend, are her parents strict? if they are then maybe itd be better to wear a formal dress (not a sari) that is modest and would be appropriate. that way you woudn’t be showing ur stuff and the parents wouldnt think you were a bad influence. good luck!!! hope i helped:)

none of your links worked so i can’t pick anything BUT i answered this mainly to say that it would be best if YOU ASK FIRST if they will be offended before you even think about what to wear. nobody but them can say if they will be offended.

i would ask your friend for advice on this one. since im not indian, im really not sure and i dont want to give you the wrong answer. i think there are different sari’s for different occasions (like going out, formal parties, casual) so im not sure… but yeah just ask your friend lol
    hope i helped(:

the best thing to do is ask her if wear a sari would be OK. if yes then go a head and wear its really pretty. and you also have to keep in mind whether or not you will be comfortable wearing a sari. I personally would wear something formal that id wear somewhere else just in case i get invited to another formal party in the near future.

    welll , just because she’s Indian && its formal doesn’t mean you should wear a sari . you should deffinately ask her about it before you buy it . it probably would be offensive if you showed up in one && everyone else is just wearing dresses && stuff(;
    good luckkk ! :D <3 *

No, No, No. Don’t wear an Indian outfit. Just be yourself! She won’t find it offensive! Just wear what you regulary wear but alittle more fancier.

    Good Luck!
