Would I be offending anyone?
I know it sounds like a silly question, but...
Would I be offending any Indian people if I wore a sari?
I've always thought they were the most beautiful and elegant clothing a woman can wear, but I've been too afraid to sport one in public. I wouldn't want anyone to take it the wrong way or be offended that I'm wearing it.
(I'm a caucasian girl, and I've not seen any non-Indian girls wearing them.)
I would love to get one to wear out for special occasions because they are modest yet completely feminine, and they come in the most beautiful fabrics.
I know it's a silly question, but I've always wanted to wear one, but I would feel terrible if someone took offense.

my boyfriend is half indian and half colombian… and his colombian mom often had to wear a sari to indian events. i dont think people would get offended, but they would know you arent indian. hey, if you get your nose pierced on the left side, they’ll just think youre a lightskinned indian. tons of north indian people have very fair skin. lol im not kidding… but im actually sicilian and i think saris are really pretty. i’d wear one. if anything, they’d assume you are just interested in their culture. when i go to indian beauty shops, they are always so happy to work with my hair… they are like "i have never felt this kind of hair before! you must be irish!" haha they say a lot of funny things. its like when you see an indian wearing jeans… do you get offended? nah. you just go, "oh, they’re americanized."

i don’t think so. but this is my personal opinion. unless you were wearing it as mocking… you shouldn’t have a problem. it’s just clothes.
